1 cup long grain rice
1 3/4 cups water or stock
3/4 teaspoon butter or oil
salt and fresh ground black pepper
Put all ingredients in microwave safe bowl. Remember, the rice
will be expanding during cooking, so pick a large enough bowl.
Microwave on HIGH uncovered for 5 minutes. Microwave on
MEDIUM LOW, uncovered for 7 1/2 minutes. Do not stir during
the cooking process. Season with salt and fluff with a fork
just before serving.
Serves 4
The Greenhouse Restaurant, Lounge and Motor Inn is not a business. But it seemed that way at times. There were so many people coming and going, and eating and sleeping over that we sometimes lost track of how much we enjoyed the fun, food and extended family and good company. These are some of the best family recipes. I hope they will bring good memories and you'll enjoy them yourself. Family and friends, please don't hesitate to add your own new recipes.
